Free Fishing Days will let Indiana residents go fishing without a license
Indiana – There will be the first of four Free Fishing Days in 2024 on May 12 of this year.
During Free Fishing Days, Indiana residents are permitted to cast a line without a fishing license or trout/salmon stamp.
The Free Fishing Day is only applicable on public waters in the state; all other regulations, including bag limits, size limitations, and allowed species, are still in force.
Parks across Indiana will host special programs on May 12 to mark the historic occasion.
For a list of events along with their locations, see events.in.gov.
May 12 is the only Free Fishing Day of the month.
There will be two days in a row on June 1 and 2, and the final one on September 28.
