Woman from Aurora detained for assaulting a child
Aurora, Indiana – Following a March investigation, an Aurora woman was taken into custody on Thursday for abuse on a child that resulted in physical harm.
The investigation got underway on March 13 when the Indiana Department of Child Services called the Indiana State Police. The information they had received was that an adult female had beaten a juvenile child at an Aurora residence earlier that morning.
Investigators saw that the youngster had apparent injuries from the alleged battery when they spoke with DCS case workers and the child. The 50-year-old Aurora resident Amy R.
Katenbrink was named as the suspect.
The matter was forwarded to the Dearborn County Prosecutor’s Office for evaluation following the investigation. Consequently, Katenbrink was placed under arrest on a Level 5 felony accusation of violence on a minor resulting in bodily injury. She was without incident arrested by troopers at her home on Thursday.
After being taken to the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center, Katenbrink was detained until her initial court appearance.
