Garage fire at a northwest Indianapolis residence kills two dogs and injures four
Indianapolis, Indiana – On Wednesday, a house and garage fire on Indianapolis’ northwest side claimed the lives of two pets and injured four people.
At around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the Indianapolis Fire Department received a call about a residential fire in the 4100 block of Patricia Street. That is close to Lafayette Road in a neighborhood off of West 30th Street.
Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the same spot in response to an explosive report, according to online records.
According to IFD, the fire began in the garage and quickly moved into the house.
As a result, four people were hurt, one of whom needed medical attention at a hospital. At the time of the fire, the house also contained three dogs. Sadly, two pets passed away.
According to IFD, there were no reported major injuries, and investigators are working to identify the fire’s cause.
