GOP Congressman known to be critical of Donald Trump is the second GOP member appointed by Pelosi to Jan. 6 committee
Nancy Pelosi continues to appoint GOP members to the Capitol riot committee that are known to be against Trump’s policy, latest information from Washington confirm.
According to the latest information from the White House, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has named Rep. Adam Kinzinger, to a special committee investigating the Capitol riot. Pelosi is convinced that the Democratic-majority group will “get to the truth.”
The first ones to take part of the investigation are the police officers who were at the scene battling the rioters on January 6. The very first meeting of the committee is set to take place as soon as Tuesday.
Previously, Pelosi refused to accept the candidates proposed by the House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy. That was enough for him and said the GOP members will not take part of the committee.
Last Wednesday Pelosi refused the proposed candidates in the names of Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, and Rep. Jim Banks, R-Indiana, to join the select committee.
Rep. Adam Kinzinger is just second the GOP member that will take part of the committee after Wyoming Republican Liz Cheney. Both of them are known to be critical of Trump, his policies and they both have voted for Trump’s impeachment.
Kinzinger happily announced that he was delighted with the invitation and that he accepted to take part of the committee saying Americans need to know the truth on “how and why thousands showed up to attack our democracy.”
