Indianapolis, Indiana – In order to curb fraud, waste, abuse, mismanagement, and misconduct in state executive branch agencies, Indiana Governor Mike Braun has named Jared Prentice as the state’s next inspector general.

According to a news release from Braun’s office, the Inspector General’s Office’s goal is to promote an integrity-based culture in state government by means of education, investigations, prosecutions, and legislative proposals.

According to the statement, Prentice has a wealth of expertise in both the public and private sectors, with a focus on compliance and regulatory affairs.

He most recently oversaw reporting, artificial intelligence, and records and contracts compliance at financial services company Deloitte Services. Before this, Prentice was the head of the records and information management program at the healthcare organization Elevance Health.

Throughout his career, he also played a key role at the Indiana Department of Revenue, where he founded the compliance division from the bottom up.

Prentice is the executive vice president of Corporate Ethics Indiana, a professional association that promotes professional growth and corporate ethics.

Prentice has two Juris Doctor degrees: one from Indiana University’s Robert H. McKinney School of Law and the other from Oak Brook College of Law and Government Policy.
