Hoosiers hunker down in Florida during Hurricane Milton

Indianapolis, Indiana – Across the Sunshine State, Hoosiers took cover as Hurricane Milton made landfall on Wednesday night.
Every Hoosier has a unique tale to tell. Two weathered the storm while on vacation. A mother who didn’t have the means to leave her home in Florida was another Hoosier. A few years ago, Amy Hoover and her spouse relocated from Indiana to Florida. They had to spend the storm in Citrus County, Florida, because they only had one minivan and it isn’t big enough for their eight kids.
Hoover remarked, “It was just scary.” “The kids stayed up the entire night, and it was loud and scary throughout.” After staying up all night, we holed up in the center of the home, far from the windows and any distractions. But this is the fallout now.
Angela Bratina is in Orlando for her vacation. Despite having experienced numerous storms in the Midwest, she declared she would never repeat this.
Bratina stated, “It was long and loud.” The storm had a lull, most likely at one in the morning. Yes, I was afraid, though. Yes, I’m not going to do that again, I thought to myself when I woke up this morning.
Jeffrey Steele, his spouse Katie, and their three daughters lived at Daytona Beach on the eastern coast of the state.
They made the decision to weather the storm, although they planned to move inland if needed. According to Jeffrey, “the wind was absolutely crazy last night.” “We spent the week of fall break renting a condo.”This morning, there were about two inches of water in our bedroom due to water seeping in between the doors. Additionally, the wall unit air conditioner was literally blown into the bedroom by the wind and removed from the wall.
After the hurricane, these Indiana residents all expressed gratitude for their safety.
When the two tourists return home, the chaos ends, but for Hoover it has just begun.
