Indiana food banks receive $20,000 from a local credit union
Indianapolis, Indiana – Before Thanksgiving, a local credit union gave enormous checks to Indiana food banks, both in size and value.
Prior to Thanksgiving and the Christmas season, Everwise Credit Union donated $20,000 to food banks in the counties of Marion and Hamilton. On Tuesday, representatives from the credit union gave the $10,000 cheques to Gleaner’s Food Bank and Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank in Noblesville.
“No one should go hungry, but unfortunately, food insecurity is a problem found in every community,” Jason Osterhage, president and CEO of Everwise, said. “We want to make a positive impact in the communities where our members live, and these organizations make a big difference for the individuals they serve.”
With more than 300,000 members, more than 50 branches across Indiana and southwest Michigan, and more than $5 billion in assets, Everwise Credit Union—formerly Teachers Credit Union—claims to be the largest credit union in Indiana. Since its founding in 1931, the company, according to its executives, has concentrated on improving the lives of its constituents and the community.
