Indiana troopers find semi driver shot on I-65

Roselawn, Indiana – The Indiana State Police announced on Thursday night that a truck driver who had been traveling southbound on Interstate 65 was discovered shot and was then sent to a hospital in Indianapolis for emergency care.

It was not possible to obtain information regarding the safety of the driver, who was not named in a press release issued by the state police.

The injured motorist was reported to the state police at approximately 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The location of the accident was close to the 224-mile marker, approximately 6 miles south of the State Road 10 exit for Roselawn and Demotte. In the northwest corner of Indiana, that is located in a more rural part of Jasper County.

Due to the presence of a medical helicopter and the ongoing investigation into the crime, traffic was shut down in both directions until approximately 8 o’clock.

Anyone who may have been in the vicinity and noticed any suspicious activity before to the shooting was urged to get in touch with Detective Alaa Hamed at the number 219-696-6242 and leave a message with the commander of the Lowell post.
