Indiana WIC updates infant formula

Indianapolis, Indiana – For infant formula distributed to WIC clients, the Indiana Women, Infants, and Children Program will switch from using Gerber goods to Enfamil products.
In accordance with a press statement, customers who are now given Gerber formula will switch to Enfamil formula starting on Oct. 1 or later. The adjustment will have an impact on more than 24,000 clients.
Some consumers may still be receiving Gerber benefits through the end of October because the WIC benefit periods follow distinct timetables. WIC clients are recommended to consult the INWIC mobile app or contact their nearby WIC clinic with any queries they may have regarding their family’s benefits.
“Our WIC team is ready to provide all impacted families with assistance, direction, and resources during this transition. The Indiana WIC program, which is run by the Indiana Department of Health, will continue to provide all infants whose baby formula is transitioning with the same level of benefits and nutrition, thanks to the WIC nutritionists in our clinics, according to Laura Chavez, director of Indiana WIC.
In order to guarantee that stock levels meet demand for benefits awarded for both Gerber and Enfamil during the changeover period from October 1 through October 30, state WIC personnel will continue to work closely with grocery and pharmacy vendors.
