Indianapolis man to spend more than three years behind bars after Glock switch discovered in apartment
Indianapolis, Indiana – A Glock switch was discovered at the Indianapolis apartment of a twenty-one-year-old man who entered a guilty plea to possessing a machine gun in December of 2023.
A press release from the Southern District of Indiana United States Attorney’s Office stated that Jaquan Robinson entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to little over three years in federal prison, with an additional three years of supervised release.
Officers from Marion County Probation visited Robinson’s apartment on December 28, 2023, to check on compliance. Officers allegedly discovered a rucksack with a Glock handgun’s frame inside during the visit. A Glock switch and some identity documents were discovered in a safe following the issuance of a search request.
Robinson acknowledged having the machine gun conversion gadget to the authorities. Authorities looked through Robinson’s social media posts, revealing that he was “looking to buy more handgun parts so that he can have a fully-functional machine gun.”
According to the announcement, Robinson had already served a prior conviction for both possessing two or more firearms during an incident and bringing a handgun into a school. In the state of Michigan, Robinson was also facing unresolved guns charges.
According to Zachary A. Myers, the U.S. attorney for the southern district of Indiana, “illegally armed criminals are a grave danger to our families and neighbors—especially when they have machineguns capable of spreading carnage in mere seconds.” “Using a Glock switch or possessing one is a serious offense. This sentence to federal prison should serve as a warning that deadly weapons are not acceptable in our community. Our federal prosecutors are dedicated to bringing these significant federal cases and improving Marion County’s safety, working in tandem with the ATF and the city of Indianapolis.
