Investigation into a deadly shooting on Thanksgiving led to the arrest of a 20-year-old man
Bartholomew County, Indiana – A deadly shooting that occurred on Thursday resulted in one arrest, according to police.
Police said that a 20-year-old man of Edinburgh believed to be responsible for the incident was taken to Bartholomew County Jail on suspicion of murder.
Deputies were sent to the 15000 block of North Bluff Road at approximately 6:13 p.m. on Thursday after receiving a report of shots fired. Upon arrival at the scene, they discovered a man who had been shot in the lower body.
First responders first provided aid to the man at the scene and took the victim to the Columbus Regional Hospital for further treatment, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries despite first responders’ best efforts.
The coroner identified the victim as Wayne E. McGeorge Jr., 49. Information about the identity of the suspect was not made public.
Formal charges against the suspect have not been filed yet.
