John Mellencamp extends tour to include 2024 stop at Ball State
Indianapolis, Indiana – Rock singer John Mellencamp, who was born and raised in Indiana, is adding a date at Ball State University in 2024 to his sold-out “Live and In Person 2023” tour.
On Friday, March 22, Mellencamp will visit Ball State’s Emens Auditorium with his “Live and In Person 2024” tour.
On Friday, Nov. 3, at 10 a.m. local time, tickets will go on sale. Tickets can be bought online, over the phone, or in person at the Emens Auditorium box office. Prices range from $49.50 to $149.50.
Since the Muncie event is the sole stop in Indiana on the tour, fans will want to move quickly.
Mellencamp performed at the Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville during Farm Aid 2023, and her tour in 2023 featured other cities in Indiana.
The Chestnut Street Incident, the 72-year-old Seymour native’s debut record, was released in 1976. He has accumulated 22 Top 40 songs in the United States throughout the years, including “Jack & Diane,” “Hurts So Good,” and “I Need a Lover.”
“Orpheus Descending,” his 25th record, was made available earlier this year. Well-versed in political matters, Mellencamp addresses gun violence in the opening track of the album, “Hey God.”
Both the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inducted Mellencamp in 2018.
