Leaders in Indianapolis begin construction on new sections of the Pogue’s Run Trail

Indianapolis, Indiana – On Monday, Pogue’s Run Trail officials in Indianapolis began construction on the trail’s second phase.
Pogue’s Run Art and Nature Park is connected to the original part at Commerce Avenue and Brookside North Drive via the extension.
“We are in the middle of Pedestrian Safety Month and we’re acknowledging that in the city. This is an exciting time for us to be out breaking ground on another trail, providing better accessibility for our residences here on the near east side connecting to the downtown neighborhoods,” said Brandon Herget, manager at the Indianapolis Department of Public Works.
The Nolan Avenue Bridge receives funds from the project as well. It is anticipated that work will start early next month and be completed by summer 2025.
