Man died when car struck him on east side of city
Indianapolis, Indiana – According to authorities, a guy was hit by a car on Saturday night on the east side of Indianapolis and died as a result.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department received a complaint of a person struck at East Washington Street and North Shadeland Avenue at 10:10 p.m. on Saturday. Officers found an unresponsive adult male in the street who looked to have been hit by a car after they arrived at the site.
On the spot, medical services pronounced the man deceased.
The man who was struck by the car is on the scene, as is its driver. The man’s identity was not immediately made public by the police, who are still looking into the event.
Washington Street’s westbound lanes are anticipated to be blocked while the matter is being investigated. Drivers are advised by the police to use English Avenue or East 10th Street to avoid the area.
