Indianapolis, Indiana – A guy who was shot last week on the city’s northwest side passed away on Tuesday from his wounds, according to police.

Around 10 a.m. on Friday, members of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to a complaint of gunfire at a residence in the 1300 block of West 32nd Street. The house is located south of Interstate 65 in a residential neighborhood close to the intersection of West 32nd and North Harding Streets.

When the police came, they discovered a male inside the house. He was wounded and transferred to a hospital in a critical state.

“Due to the victim’s condition, IMPD Homicide detectives responded to the scene and began their investigation,” IMPD said in a statement Wednesday. “On Jan. 24, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by medical staff.”

After informing the man’s family, the Marion County Coroner’s Office will release his name.

Police have not released any suspect information or made any arrests.
