Man reports he was blackmailed after sending nude photo on Grindr
Bloomington, Indiana – A call made to Bloomington Police Department Monday reported a blackmail suspect on the dating app, Grindr. The case remains active as detectives attempt to trace the person.
At approximately 10:30 p.m. Monday, police received a call from a man who reported he had sent a nude photo to another man on Grindr in exchange for a nude photo in return.
The man told police that instead of receiving a nude photo from the other user, he was told to send $60 to the person via Venmo or he would release the nude photo to the man’s Instagram followers.
The man sent the $60 and called BPD. While on the phone with police, the person demanded another $50, the man told police.
It is unclear whether the man sent the additional $50, and police detectives continue to search for the person who demanded payment.
