Man shot and killed at a mobile home in central Indiana
Columbus, Indiana – Police say a man lost his life in a shooting that occurred at a Columbus mobile home development on Monday afternoon.
The Columbus Police Department posted on social media on Monday night, but the man’s name was kept private. Police report that he passed away soon after the gunshot.
On Monday at 4:45 p.m., authorities were alerted to a gunshot at a residence in the 2600 block of Joseph Cox Court. That’s in the Homestead Mobile Home Park, which is off Middle Road between Poshard Drive and Rocky Ford Road, northeast of downtown.
After being found close to the residence, a person of interest was placed under police custody. On Monday night, police did not think there was still a threat to the neighborhood.
What may have caused the shooting was not disclosed by the police.
The mobile home development in Bartholomew County is located roughly fifty minutes southeast of Indianapolis’ city center.
