Monroe Lake hosts Youth Fishing Derby June 5, all children 16 or younger welcome to join
Bloomington, Indiana – Monroe Lake in a press release announced that it will host a Youth Fishing Derby on June 5th.
The annual event will take place at Paynetown State Recreation Area, 4850 S. State Road 446, Bloomington from 8 to 10 a.m.
According to the hosts, all children aged 16 or younger are welcome to join the event for free. They invite everyone to join the relaxed atmosphere. Free bait will be also provided for everyone, while there will be equipment to borrow. For those new to fishing, instructors will be on the spot to assist.
The derby will take place at the Paynetown fishing dock, located across from the swimming beach. Kids may arrive and start fishing any time between 8 and 9:15 a.m. A prize drawing will be held for all participants when the derby ends at 10 a.m.
Indiana state plates vehicles will have to pay $7 entrance fee, while all other vehicles will have to pay $9.
