Myles Rice, a former Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, has committed to Indiana
Indianapolis, Indiana – Myles Rice, a former Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, has pledged to Indiana University.
As a redshirt freshman in the previous season, the exceptional men’s basketball player averaged 14.8 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.
Based on his WSU profile, Rice was a redshirt in 2021–2022. In 2022–2023, he underwent medical redshirt treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
During his 35 games with the Cougars last season, Rice won seven Pac-12 Freshman of the Week awards. A press statement stated that the South Carolina native was also selected for the All-Pac-12 First Team.
Last year, Rice guided Washington State to an NCAA Tournament spot. The second-seeded Iowa State Cyclones defeated the seventh-seeded Cougars in the second round after the seventh-seeded team defeated the tenth-seeded Drake Bulldogs in the first.
Rice posted a confirmation of his IU pledge on Instagram on Saturday.
Last year, the Hoosiers finished with an overall record of 19-14 and a conference record of 10-10, missing out on the NCAA Tournament. In 2023–24, the Cougars finished 25–10 overall and 14-6 in Pac-12 play.
