One person hurt when an aircraft near Kokomo crashes into a golf cart

Kokomo, Indiana – An aircraft has crashed in Kokomo, the Howard County EMA reports.

At about 1:37 p.m. on Sunday, the Howard County Sheriff’s Office reported that its deputies had responded to a complaint of an airplane collision involving a golf cart at Glenndale Airport, which is situated at 3460 S 400 W.

Deputies conducted a preliminary investigation and found that an observer was photographing the experimental aircraft’s descent from a golf cart near the runway as it approached the airport for landing.

According to HCSO, the plane lost direction as it descended and collided with the golf cart. The golf cart then overturned, knocking the person inside unconscious.

According to HCSO, the driver of the golf cart was flown to a nearby hospital by helicopter. Additionally, according to officials, the aircraft’s pilot was unharmed.

The Howard County EMA has taken control of the crash scene. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is currently being awaited by officials in order to launch an investigation.

The crash is also being looked at by HCSO. It is suggested that anyone with knowledge on the event give the HCSO detectives a call at (765) 614-3460.
