Opening weekend for SPARK on the Circle

Indianapolis, Indiana – For yet another exciting year, SPARK on the Circle is officially back. Excitement is rising for year two of this popular downtown attraction, which tens of thousands of people got to experience last year.
For those who may not be aware, SPARK on the Circle is, on the northwest side of Monument Circle, essentially a pop-up park. It is free for the general public to see and is open seven days a week from 11:00 a.m. until sunset.
In the center of downtown Indianapolis, there is huge Jenga, checkers, chess, ping pong, foosball, and more. There will also be live music, art exhibits, and other unique programs all summer long.
Over 78,000 people visited the SPARK on the Circle in its first year of operation in 2023. This year, it is hoped, even more individuals will join in on the fun.
”I just love seeing the vibrancy it really brings to Monument Circle,” said Max Wing, the PR and Communications Manager with Downtown Indy Inc. “We are really trying to engage a seven-day a week audience, not just weekends, so whether that is the workforce coming out for lunch, sitting at one of the tables, building human connections, it’s really built for the community and invites people to experience Monument Circle in an entirely new way.”
Residents and guests alike can check out another festive exhibit in Monument Circle this weekend only.
As Hoosiers celebrate the return of SPARK on the Circle this weekend, Indy Gay Market will offer the Big Gay Market on the south side of Monument Circle for the next two days. This Saturday marks the beginning of Pride Month. Live music, 50 distinctive vendors, and more will be present.
This year, a modified version of SPARK on the Circle will run through the holidays in addition to continuing through the beginning of November.
