Over 744,000 Medicaid participants are impacted by the Indiana data breach

Indianapolis, Indiana – Over 744,000 Medicaid enrollees’ personal information was exposed due to a security breach, the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration reported on Friday.
According to the FSSA, a security flaw in software used by a contractor, Maximum Health Services, exposed some personally identifiable information of Indiana Medicaid users.
In the MOVEit application, the names, residences, case numbers, and Medicaid numbers of more than 744,000 members were made public. Four more Medicaid enrollees’ Social Security numbers reportedly suffered an impact, according to a release.
In late May, the MOVEit application breach, according to FSSA, had an impact on businesses and organizations all around the world.
Maximus is reaching out to all affected Medicaid enrollees with information and credit monitoring options. Anyone with inquiries or needing further details should call 833-919-4749.
