Terre Haute, Indiana – With 11 seconds remaining, Rocco Ciocca scored a 1-yard plunge to give Indiana State a 31-27 victory over Murray State. Elijah Owens also rushed for a touchdown.

With 1:57 remaining, James London’s 25-yard field goal gave the Racers a lead after Jayden Johannsen completed back-to-back drives with short touchdown throws, tying the score at 24-10.

Then, after successfully completing two of three throws and gaining 22 yards on two keepers, Owens orchestrated a 75-yard drive that ended with Shen Butler-Lawson scoring 32 yards to the Murray State 1 over the middle. The Sycamores attempted two botched “tush push” quarterback sneaks with forty-three seconds remaining, and then Owens passed the ball to backup tight end Ciocca.

With an 18-yard touchdown pass to Kai Rios and a 3-yard touchdown run, Owns completed 25 of 34 passes for 218 yards, which helped the Sycamores (2-5, 1-1 Missouri Valley Football Conference) take a 21-10 lead at halftime.

Johannsen finished with 256 yards on 20 of 38. With 3:53 remaining in the third quarter, he completed a 2-yard pass to Kade Neely. On the following play, he connected with Justice Hill for an 11-yard gain. Hill led the Racers (1-5, 0-3) with seven catches for 103 yards.
