“Pottery by You” provides ideas for things to do during winter vacation

Indianapolis, Indiana – During the approaching Christmas break, an Indianapolis painting studio is providing parents with suggestions on how to keep their children occupied.

“Pottery by You and More” is an Indianapolis do-it-yourself pottery workshop located off of 86th Street. The company offers glass decorating, and wood and ceramic painting classes.

Twelve various painting techniques are taught by studio staff, many of which are repeatable at home.

According to Liz Driggers, studio manager, the enjoyment factor outweighs the artistic merits.

“I actually had a party not too long ago where it was like a lot of older kids and younger kids,” Driggers said. “It’s really great for all ages …They always come out great.”

The establishment frequently hosts unique theme evenings, such as an adult-only late-night event or a Pokemon Go night in the fall.

Making candles is a fast hobby that just takes 20 to 25 minutes.

According to Driggers, they want to offer a fantastic social setting free from the mess that comes with doing crafts at home.

“There’s also an opportunity to sort of relax and unwind,” Driggers said. “We have over 100 different senses to choose from in the studio. We even have some like kind of interesting and fun ones. “

In addition, the studio offers take-home kits that allow customers to finish various projects at their own pace.

For the majority of offerings, walk-ins are welcome and reservations are not necessary.
