Rust submits his application to run for the U.S. Senate seat in Indiana
Indianapolis, Indiana – The paperwork for the second Republican contender seeking the U.S. Senate seat from Indiana has already been turned in.
On Monday, John Rust delivered thousands of petitions to the Secretary of State’s office in Indiana. This occurred within four days following the filing of U.S. Representative Jim Banks’ senate campaign papers.
Banks will face opposition from Rust in the primary on May 7.
Rust said of his paperwork filing, “It’s a huge sense of relief. I am so happy to turn in 17,000 signatures all across the state of Indiana. We have signatures from every county and it is a massive show of support.”
Rust’s eligibility is still being contested in court. On Monday of next week, the Indiana Supreme Court will hear arguments in that case. Rust has already won a circuit court decision.
