Indianapolis, Indiana – On Thursday afternoon, over a hundred groups will be seeking volunteers to work alongside them at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

Organizers claim that IndyVolved is the biggest civic participation event in the city. Nonprofits and other organizations are brought together to encourage participation.

The nonprofit organization IndyHub organizes it with the goal of integrating 20- and 30-year-olds with their local communities.

Those who become interested, according to President Al Carroll, typically remain in the city.
Carroll declared, “This is a really great opportunity for anyone looking for more ways to get involved in Indianapolis.” Our objective is to provide people with a wide range of options to choose from. They want to see long-term results if they invest that time, effort, and money.

Every organization will include details about their activities and how to become involved.

The clubs include anything from animal welfare and food pantries to artistic associations and leisure activities.

Volunteers are needed for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana, one of the charitable organizations.

According to Megan Iazeolla, BBBSCI’s director of volunteer and community engagement, the organization participates in the fair each year.

“Those who are attending and participating in this event as vendors are volunteers,” Iazeolla stated. They are individuals who have already made a commitment to the community. So where better to look for individuals who would be excellent mentors?

Thursday afternoon from 4:30 to 8 p.m. is when IndyVolved takes place.

All ages are welcome to attend. There will be a ton of activities organized by organizations, and food will be sold by fairgrounds merchants.

There is free parking at the fairgrounds for this event.
