The Lawrence neighborhood is having issues with the school’s dismissal

Lawrence, Indiana – Locals in Lawrence’s Watson Farms neighborhood are begging law enforcement to take tough measures against parents who pick up their children from Fall Creek Valley Middle School in their neighborhood.

According to Shawn Hinton, every weekday afternoon, cars congest the dead end so they can avoid waiting in line for the pickup. The end of Hinton’s Street leads to the rear of the school.
“We counted at least thirty cars the other day,” Hinton remarked.

Hinton did not have a good interaction with some of the parents when he asked them to return to the pickup line.

According to Hinton, “They were very confrontational.” “We no longer wanted to talk about it.”
The Lawrence Metropolitan School District is aware of the problem. In an effort to shorten parent wait times, the district is rearranging traffic in the Fall Creek parking lot.

To keep things flowing, off-duty police officers are also directing traffic. If this isn’t handled, Hinton fears that a child will be harmed.

“This is where we live, where our kids play, and where we call home,” Hinton remarked. We don’t seem to bother them when we visit their house, in my opinion. All we want is to resume our normal lives and reestablish our community.

According to Travis Cline, deputy police chief for Lawrence, officers will make every effort to uphold the Watson Farms community’s no-parking policy, which was enacted especially for visitors during school hours.
