UAW rejects Allison Transmission’s tentative agreement

Indianapolis, Indiana – The proposed agreement between Allison Transmission in Speedway and United Auto Workers Local 933 has been rejected.
According to an Allison Transmission website, UAW Local 933 said on Friday that a vote by its membership had rejected the interim deal.
The outcome and vote total are still unknown.
The message goes on to say that even though the agreement was turned down, it will still be in effect as both sides carry on with their talks.
The potential four-year arrangement was first disclosed by the firm on November 22.
Before it, since November 15, the members of UAW Local 933 had been operating under the terms of an expired collective bargaining agreement.
About 1,500 employees of UAW Local 933 are employed at the Speedway Allison Transmission facility.
