Vehicle overturned and caught fire following a chase on the near north side
Indianapolis, Indiana – In the aftermath of a police pursuit that took place on the near north side of Indianapolis on Sunday, a vehicle fell over and caught fire. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is currently responding there.
Officers were dispatched to the intersection of E 38th Street and Broadway Street at around 11:29 a.m., where the vehicle had flipped over and set fire, as stated by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Law enforcement officials stated that they made an effort to pull over the vehicle because it was involved in a carjacking incident.
The pursuit and subsequent collision were caused by the vehicle’s escape.
IMPD stated that they were able to detain two adolescents in connection with the incident.
Their injuries were not severe, and they were sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.
According to the Indianapolis Metro Police Department, at least one of the juveniles will be taken into custody on the preliminary allegation of taking off from a vehicle.
There has been no identification of any suspects as of yet.
