AMCOR and Berry Global, based in Evansville, have announced a merger agreement
Indianapolis, Indiana – Berry Global Group, located in Evansville, announced plans Tuesday to merge with Amcor, a packaging company based in Switzerland.
Berry Global Group is a major producer of plastic packaging with 34,000 workers globally.
The two businesses will merge in an all-stock deal worth more than $8.4 billion.
Both Berry’s and Amcor’s boards of directors have unanimously approved the deal, which values Berry’s common stock at $73.59 per share.
Safety, employee experience, sustainability, innovation, closeness to customers, and functional excellence are among the ideals that Berry and Amcor share. In a statement, Berry CEO Kevin Kwilinski stated, “We will be better together, and I look forward to all we will achieve as a combined organization.”
Following the merger, the business will be called Global Packaging Solutions.
