Driver strikes and kills Fishersman in parking lot of Anderson Casino
Anderson, Indiana – Police report that a man was driven over by a car this past weekend in the parking lot of a casino in central Indiana, resulting in his death.
Around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Anderson Police Department officers were dispatched to the Harrah’s Hoosier Park Casino parking lot in response to reports of a pedestrian being injured in an automobile accident.
According to the APD, when they arrived, they discovered Steven Rubenstein, 71, of Fishers, seriously injured. Rubenstein was treated at an Indianapolis hospital, where he subsequently passed away, according to authorities on Tuesday.
According to an APD preliminary investigation, Rubenstein was struck by an SUV driven by an Anderson lady in the casino parking lot as he was strolling across it. Police have identified the driver, but in a communiqué issued on Tuesday, no criminal charges were stated.
