Indianapolis man accused of shooting another person, arrested after police standoff, report
Indianapolis, Indiana – Following a SWAT standoff, Indianapolis man was arrested early Wednesday morning after he shot and injured another person in a motel.
According to police reports, deputies were dispatched at the Motor 8 Inn in the 3700 block of North Shadeland Avenue near East 38th Street around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday after a 911 call in regards to a shooting.
When they arrived at the scene, they found a man suffering gunshot wounds. He was immediately transferred in the nearest hospital for treatment. His condition was critical at the moment when he arrived to the hospital.
While authorities were starting the initial investigation, they spotted the potential suspect in one of the motel rooms. He barricaded the door and refused to get out of the room.
A SWAT team attempted to negotiate with the man and later used non-lethal flashes to get him out.
The incident is still under investigation.
