Officer in Beech Grove shoots a person

Beech, Grove, Indiana – An injured man was shot by a Beech Grove cop on the southeast side of Indianapolis on Friday afternoon. State police are looking into the incident.
A four-door passenger vehicle that matched the description of one that had been reported stolen was the subject of a traffic stop by the Beech Grove Police Department.
A pursuit began when the driver of the car that matched the description of the one that had been stolen failed to stop. According to the police, a pit maneuver was attempted multiple times.
According to reports, the suspect struck an officer’s vehicle head-on.
According to the police, an officer fired one shot. The suspect inside the other car sustained wounds that were consistent with gunshot wounds.
Sgt. John Perrine, a public relations officer for the Indiana State Police, reported that the suspect is in stable condition and that no police were wounded.
Emerson Avenue is shut down for more investigation south of Raymond Street. According to Perrine, the street may be closed till Friday at 4 or 5 p.m.
