Pitney Bowes announces closure of parcel department in Greenwood
Greenwood, Indiana – Pitney Bowes, an e-commerce business, has declared that its Greenwood returns and delivery supercenter will be closing its parcel department.
The international shipping and mailing organization, which focuses on offering automated technologies, logistics planning, and financial services, has declared that its commerce parcel facility at 1415 Collins Road in Greenwood would shut down on September 4.
Over 300 employees would lose their jobs as a result of the shutdown. According to the corporation, employees were advised of the planned closure on June 27 and that terminations would take place between September 4 and 18.
The company said in a statement that the closure of the package department was due to “changing business needs.”
The parcel facility now employs 240 people, and the closure will also have an impact on 71 temporary employees.
