Bedford, Indiana – We are proud to announce that General Motors has been inducted into the Indiana Manufacturers Hall of Fame.

The Indiana Manufacturers Association honors businesses every year for their economic contributions to the state and their dedication to their communities and workforce.
At a luncheon hosted on October 16 at the Biltwell Event Center in Indianapolis, the honorees for this year were revealed. The yearly occasion honors the accomplishments of Indiana’s manufacturers.

In the past ten years alone, GM has invested more than $2.8 billion in Indiana, where it has operated for more than 80 years. GM works with more than 400 suppliers in Indiana and has about 6,000 employees spread across seven plants.

“Our entire Bedford community and workforce should be proud of this honor,” said Mark Dickman, director of the Bedford Operations Plant. “Bedford has been a part of GM’s community since 1942, and I am proud of each and every one of our team members who embody the company’s legacy in this city and state as well as our current manufacturing expertise.”

IMA President and CEO Brian Burton congratulated General Motors on their induction into the 2024 Indiana Manufacturers Hall of Fame. Since 1951, GM has been a part of the Indiana Manufacturers Association. Because GM’s Indiana suppliers and partners have created thousands of new jobs, its influence goes far beyond its own walls. GM is a top employer in Indiana because of its capital investments, inventive attitude, and desire for global competitiveness. We commend GM for its visionary leadership in creating new standards in the automobile sector.

An agreement between GM and Samsung SDI to form a joint venture to produce electric vehicle batteries in New Carlisle, Indiana, in 2027 was finalized earlier this year.

Mark Pervine, GM’s manufacturing vice president, the components sector, stated, “This is a testament to the great work of our GM teams across the state and the thousands of team members who have worked at GM Indiana facilities over the last century.”
