Westfield home damaged by a garage fire

Westfield, Indiana – On Sunday, Westfield firefighters were able to keep a garage fire from devouring the entire two-story house.
The Westfield Fire Department reports that at around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, dispatchers were informed about a fire in the 16000 block of Hush Hickory Bend. As fire crews approached the scene, they could see the smoke plume from a distance.
The Westfield Fire Department claimed that despite not knowing whether anyone was inside the house, firefighters “braved the smoke and searched as far as the conditions allowed, fortunately, no one was inside.”
The home’s interior did sustain smoke damage, according to the fire department, despite the fire being primarily restricted to the garage and exterior due to the quick action of the fire crews.
In the driveway, a pickup truck also caught fire and sustained damage.
Fire departments from Carmel and Noblesville helped Westfield put out the fire.
