Boil Water Advisory in effect for parts of Bloomington until Saturday
Bloomington, Indiana – The water supply in some parts of Bloomington was shut off by City of Bloomington Utilities crews after a water main break occurred in the Bryan Park area.
The consumers in these parts of Bloomington have been placed under a precautionary Boil Water Advisory until 1 p.m. on Saturday, or until they are informed differently earlier. Check the addresses that have been placed under Boil Water Advisory here.
When the pressure in the water main falls below 20 pounds per square inch (psi), the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) requires that all public water systems issue a precautionary Boil Water Advisory to their customers.
Those who are impacted need to pay attention to the following instructions:
- As soon as your usual water pressure has been restored, run cold water from a sink or tub until clear water runs from the faucet.
- Boil all water used for drinking, cooking, and oral hygiene for at least 5 minutes prior to consumption.
- It is not necessary to boil water for other purposes.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the City of Bloomington Utilities at the following number: 812-339-1444.
