While the vaccination effort continues, US surpassed 600,000 Covid-19 related deaths

US has now officially surpassed 600,000 Covid-19 related deaths since the start of the pandemic.

Since it was first identified, more than 33.4 million people tested positive for the virus according to the Johns Hopkins University data. The 600,000 milestone was reached on Tuesday.

The positive news is that number of new positive cases and deaths are at a record low so far. On Monday, only 203 people died which is the lowest number since March. The same day less than 13,000 nationwide were confirmed.

The CDC has confirmed that more than 64% of the adult population has received at least one dose of the vaccine. According to their data, around 54.4% of the adults are now fully vaccinated. Low numbers in new cases and deaths are a result of the vaccination process and officials effort to vaccinate as many people as possible.

As a whole, the CDC says 43.7% of the total U.S. population has been fully vaccinated and 52.5% have gotten at least one shot.

The virus is surely now away as many people still die from it. However, the low numbers encouraged the officials and governors to life most of the pandemic restrictions that have been in force for months. Countries will low vaccination number are still seeing relatively high Covid-19 numbers compared to the others.

Alabama, Arkansas, Hawaii, Missouri, Nevada, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming are the states with low vaccination numbers. These states have seen an increase in new Covid-19 cases lately. This group of states are far behind the national average of 43% fully vaccinated.

Some of the states and regions already met Biden’s goal to be 70% vaccinated with at least one dose by July 4. Some of the states will reach this goal by July 4^th, but some will surely lag by far behind.
