Indiana Bankers Association promotes Hoffman
Indianapolis, Indiana – With effect from January 1, Evan Hoffmeyer has been elevated to the position of vice president of communications for the Indiana Bankers Association. He oversees executive and advocacy messaging, media relations, and more. He also serves as managing editor for the IBA’s bimonthly Hoosier Banker magazine. In this role, he is in charge of all print and digital communications for the Association.
After Laura Wilson, the IBA’s longstanding vice president of communications, departed at the end of 2022, Hoffman joined the Association in August 2022 as assistant vice president of communications. During his brief tenure with the Association, he spearheaded a comprehensive redesign of Hoosier Banker magazine and assumed a prominent position in the committee responsible for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
IBA president and CEO Amber R. Van Til said of Evan, “He came to the IBA with big shoes to fill, and he has more than risen to the occasion.” “He has demonstrated himself as a gifted communicator in the nearly one and a half years he has been with the Association, and I am confident he will continue to serve the IBA and the Indiana banking community well.”
After working for three years at different trade groups and twelve years as a local journalist, including five years at Indianapolis’ WTHR-TV, Hoffmeyer joined the IBA.
In addition to serving six years on the board of directors of the University of the Ozarks alumni association, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree, he co-chairs the government affairs committee of the Indiana Society of Association Executives. He graduated from Ball State University with a master’s degree and holds an association digital marketing certification.
