After being laid to rest, Muncie thanks the former Police K9 for his service
Muncie, Indiana – After being laid to rest earlier this month, tributes are pouring in for a retired K9 officer from the Muncie Police Department.
Carlos, a retired police dog, worked for the Muncie Police Department from 2011 until 2021. After Carlos’ burial on July 11, the city’s Facebook page expressed gratitude for his many years of service.
“Carlos assisted the police department with the apprehension of countless violent criminals, keeping his human counterparts safe from the dangers those individuals posed,” read a portion of the online post.
The city honored Carlos on his well-deserved retirement and commended him for his contributions to the Muncie Police Department before he passed away.
“Carlos was able to live a happy, full life in retirement and enjoyed being with his loving family and tearing up the backyard as a dog should. Carlos, thank you for your service to Muncie. You will be missed.”
