Expect lane closures and restrictions related to the I-69 Finish Line project this week
Indianapolis, Indiana – This week, lane restrictions and stoppages are to be expected as part of the I-69 Finish Line project for drivers.
Beginning on Thursday, February 29, workers will be repaving the southbound entry ramp on Southport Road overnight, causing 20-minute delays. Once finished, Southport Road to southbound State Road 37 will follow the revised traffic pattern.
It is anticipated that the work will begin on Thursday at 9 p.m. and end by 6 a.m. on Friday, March 1.
This week, there will be nighttime closures of both single and double lanes on I-465 eastbound and westbound between I-65 and I-70 for traffic. It is anticipated that crews will work from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
On Wednesday, February 28, there will be some limitations on I-465 eastbound between Mann Road and the White River Bridge. At nine o’clock at night, there are sporadic 20-minute stoppages to allow workers to bring building supplies.
Throughout the day, workers will still be fixing emergency potholes, which may cause lane closures or traffic jams in certain areas of I-465.
Additionally, pothole repairs will be done overnight from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.; as a result, there may need to be lane limits and stoppages.
On Tuesday, February 27 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., motorists on southbound State Road 37 between Honey Creek and Olive Branch Road may experience a single-lane closure due to overhead sign repair.
Another modification is a two-mile stretch of I-69 northbound lanes to be blocked for embankment work through May 2024, with the closure beginning immediately north of Stotts Creek. There may also be 20-minute stops for drivers in the vicinity.
