Saxophonist Branford Marsalis and his quartet to perform at IU Bloomington
Indianapolis, Indiana – At 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, at IU Auditorium, Grammy Award-winning saxophonist, composer, and bandleader Branford Marsalis and his trio will play.
Bloomington University students must provide a valid ID to purchase tickets, which start at $16. General public tickets are $26. You can buy individual tickets here or at the box office of the IU Auditorium.
The saxophonist promises a vibrant, soul-stirring evening of music that combines new elements with classic jazz foundations.
The event promises to be a fantastic musical experience, according to IU Executive Director Maria Talbert.
“We are absolutely delighted to once again host Grammy Award winner Branford Marsalis and the Branford Marsalis Quartet on the IU Auditorium stage,” Talbert said in a release.
Additionally, Marsalis will interact with students from the Jacobs School of Music while he is at IU Bloomington. In addition to meeting with composition majors and giving them advice on his approach and inspirations, he will give candid critiques and advice to jazz students during a live performance.
2019 saw Marsalis’ most recent performance at the IU Auditorium.
