Eric Holcomb, governor of Indiana, supports Mike Pence for president

Indianapolis, Indiana – Eric Holcomb, the current governor of Indiana, has endorsed Mike Pence for president of the United States.
Mike Pence, a Republican running for president and former vice president, announced that Holcomb will support him in a Tweet sent out on Wednesday afternoon.
“Karen and I are truly humbled by Governor Holcomb’s endorsement as we set out to make America stronger and more prosperous,” Pence said. “Thank you.”
Pence, who led Indiana as governor from 2013 to 2017, declared his candidacy for president earlier this month.
With him and former President Trump both vying for the GOP nomination, the former vice president’s declaration has set up a battle between the party’s most recent president and vice president.
“I’ve known Mike Pence for decades,” Holcomb said in his endorsement. “Throughout those years, he’s remained honest as the day is long.”
