Mayor Hamilton Increases Regular Media Appearances During COVID-19 Crisis
Bloomington, Ind. – In an effort to be as available to residents and to share information as broadly as possible during the COVID-19 crisis, Mayor John Hamilton and his staff have increased regular media appearances to provide updates on City services, highlight resources, and answer questions. Please note: In compliance with CDC protocols for physical distancing, all interviews are being conducted by phone or video conference. The mayor’s weekly schedule currently comprises the following media appearances:
Monday:

WFHB (91.3 FM or wfhb.org), 5 p.m.: on “A Few Minutes with the Mayor” (during WFHB Local News), the mayor speaks with Assistant News Director Sydney Foreman and answers listeners’ questions collected on the station’s social media accounts.
Tuesday:

WGCL (AM 1370, 98.7 FM, or wgclradio.com), 4:05 p.m.: Mayor Hamilton is Mike Glasscott’s regular Tuesday afternoon guest on “Glass in the Afternoon.”

WFIU Public Radio’s Facebook page, 1:30 p.m: this month’s taping of “Ask the Mayor” will be streamed live Tuesday, April 14 at WFIU’s Facebook page, during which viewers may pose questions for the mayor in the comments section of the event post.
Wednesday:

WFIU (103.7 FM or wfiu.org), third Wednesday of the month, 6:45 a.m. and 8:45 a.m.: During “Ask the Mayor,” producer Joe Hren interviews the mayor and poses listeners’ questions. Video of the complete conversations is available here.

CATS (catstv.net) and the City’s Facebook page: Mayor’s report to the Bloomington Common Council, 6:30 p.m.: Mayor Hamilton and members of his cabinet provide weekly updates to council via Zoom conferencing. The reports are streamed live and archived at both outlets.

Zoom video conference, CATS (catstv.net), and City’s Facebook page, 1:15 p.m.: Mayor Hamilton joins representatives from the County, Indiana University, and IU Health to share the most recent developments in the community’s coordinated response to the crisis and present an opportunity for media representatives to ask questions. The Zoom call information will be shared weekly with members of the press, who may direct their audience to the live stream on CATS or Facebook. The press conferences are also archived at both outlets.
